The invention relates to a method of determining digital data relating to a cancer tumour. The inventive method consists in digitising an immunohistochemically-stained sample, for example, using a high-resolution slide scanner, in order to check for tumour cell differentiation or proliferation markers. According to the invention, the digitised image of the entire tumour piece is subjected to a treatment comprising the following steps consisting in: separating the background from the tissue by comparing the intensity of one colour component of the pixels with a threshold, the most intense pixels (16) corresponding to the epithelium and the stroma; and establishing a histogram of the intensity of at least one colour component of the pixels of the tissue and, in said histogram, determining an intensity separation threshold which essentially corresponds to the minimum of the histogram, in order to separate the epithelium from the stroma. |
