It is intended to provide a medical material showing a favorable performance as a cell culture scaffold and, therefore, being adequate as a material for tissue regeneration. Namely, a medical material comprising cells for tissue regeneration enclosed in a matrix made of a denatured collagen is obtained by preparing a solution containing the denatured collagen, a cell-adhesive substance, the cells for tissue regeneration and transglutaminase, and then allowing the solution to gel owing to the function of the transglutaminase.
