The device has two pneumatic detecting circuits (2, 2) for detecting positions of a hydraulic cylinder (1). Each circuit opens inside a pneumatic chamber (3) following an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the chamber, by an outlet orifice. Each circuit coordinates with a common device (4) for tight closure of the orifice linked with a piston of the cylinder.
