The watercraft (1) has a number of control devices, signal devices and communication devices connected via a common digital network (2,7). The network is formed as an optical network, at least at its main level. The main level of the network preferably comprises a three-dimensional grating structure extending spatially over the craft. An independent claim is included for a network computing unit.
