<p>A confirmed bank alarm system 100 is disclosed comprising a user borne activation device 114 worn or carried by the user. A first alarm state is activated upon automatic detection of the user borne device 114. This may be achieved by a transceiver incorporated into device 114 and a corresponding receiver or transceiver. A second alarm state is activated by the user depressing buttons 104 or 106 or a combination of these. A visual indicator 108, such as a lamp or LED, is provided. Once the system is in the second alarm state a signal is sent to the control panel 112 which generates the alarm signal. A timer 120 is also provided to delay the generation of the alarm signal. The control panel can also notify third parties 122 such as the police, security personnel or medical/ambulance crews.</p> |
