PURPOSE: To decide a supplying transfer voltage suitable for a medium, even if it is changed. CONSTITUTION: A transfer voltage deciding part 20a instructs a transfer voltage supplying part 30 to change the supplying voltage, at the time of executing a test printing operation. The transfer voltage supplying part 30 changes the voltage supplied to a transfer roller 6 and printing on the medium is executed in this state. A density sensor 11 detects a printing density for the medium. The transfer voltage deciding part 20a receives the output of the detection of the density sensor 11 and decides that the supplying transfer voltage which corresponds to a recording position where the density is maximum is an optimum supplying transfer voltage for the medium. |
