A flow control unit 100 having a combination of flow modifying elements, such as a filter 101, non-return valve 102 and flow limiter 103, used with a flow control assembly but positioned remotely from the control assembly, in an accessible position. A flow control unit may be used in each of the hot and cold water inlet pipes. The units are preferably removable, preferably with securing or locking nuts 106 and 110 and have an associated isolating valve 104 at one end of the unit and is self contained. The flow modifying elements are preferably axially aligned and mounted in a sleeve 105, the sleeve having a threaded end piece 108 and preferably flat end faces 105'a and 108'a to provide stops for the securing or locking nuts 106 and 110 allowing removal from pipework without the need to spring apart ends of the pipes. Bushes 107 and 107' may be used in the sleeve. The flow control assembly should have empty elbow pipes. |
