Disinfection of external surfaces of egg-shells takes place (often on prodn. sites prior to dispatch) by application of a disinfectant spray, while the eggs are rotated. This is followed by drying the whole surface and packaging. The disinfection device comprises a feeder and outlet unit, a conveyor (7), a disinfecting chamber (9), complete with an atomiser (5) and a dryer (6). |
