PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform message correlation processing with a smaller volume of association information. SOLUTION: A data base indicative of a related message is made as a section for storing information related to message M14 for each message. When trouble occurs in any one of a plurality of units constituting a network, messages being delivered from units constituting the network are stored in a memory section M12. A message related to the stored message is then retrieved based on the section for storing information related to message M14. When a related message is not present or when a related message is present but it results from a main cause of the trouble, that message is notified. Only a message resulting from the main cause and required for recovering the trouble can be notified using a data base of smaller volume of association information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
