PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass substrate suitable for a magnetic disk to be mounted on a LUL (Load/Unload) type HDD (Hard Disk Drive). SOLUTION: The glass substrate for magnetic disk, which has been subjected to a chemical strengthening treatment, for mounting the magnetic disk on a LUL type HDD. In the glass substrate after the treatment, patterns of an outer circumferential edge and/or an inner circumferential edge fall within a range of±0.35μm in the predetermined areas of the outer circumferential edge and/or the inner circumferential edge, with the flat plane of the main surface of the glass substrate being set as reference plane (zero).
