PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always press a sheet to both sides of a first roller by uniform pressure when closing a second roller. SOLUTION: A sheet conveyance device has the first roller (driving roller) 3, the second roller (idler roller) 5, and an assembly for attaching the second roller (idler roller) 5 in a condition in which it can move between a position where it is apart from the first roller (driving roller) 3 at an interval and a position where it is engaged with the first roller 3 to convey a sheet. A shouldered screw 17 slides by distance equal to spring compression variable in the axial direction inside a rocker 20 to transmit force along an axis of the shouldered screw 17.
