PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag system capable of sufficiently securing backup time. SOLUTION: This air bag system 1 is provided with an ignition control circuit 5 for operating a squib 6 for igniting a bag body of an air bag, a battery 2 for supplying power to the ignition control circuit 5, and backup capacitors 4a and 4b which are charged by the battery 2, take over power supply to the ignition control circuit 5 and operate the squib 6 when cutting off power supply from the battery 2 to the ignition control circuit 5. A plurality of the backup capacitors 4a and 4b are arranged. To boost capacitor voltage Vc of the plurality of backup capacitors 4a and 4b, the ignition control circuit 5 has a switching circuit for switching the plurality of backup capacitors 4a and 4b from parallel connections to serial connections on prescribed conditions.
