PURPOSE: A frequency generating device using an USB(Universal Serial Bus) interface and an operating method thereof are provided to generate a frequency by receiving the operation power and the frequency control data from a host through a USB cable. CONSTITUTION: The USB interface(200-1) interfaces the frequency generation control information and the power with the host by connecting to the host through the USB cable. A controller(200-3) generates a frequency control signal by receiving the power and the frequency generation control information through the USB interface and transmits a frequency operation state to the host. A frequency generator(200-5) generates the frequency depending on the frequency control signal generated from the controller.
