<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device capable of detecting trouble of each means whether or not a tension varying means provides predetermined tension to a seat belt, or whether or not a tension detection means of the seat belt correctly detects the tension in the seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: Tension varying means 12 and 16 to vary tension to be provided to a seat belt 11, and tension detection means 15 and 17 to detect the tension in the seat belt 11 are provided on the seat belt 11 to constrain an occupant to a seat. A trouble detection means 18 to detect at least one trouble of the tension varying means 12 and 16 and the tension detection means 15 and 17 to find that the differential tension is not less than a predetermined value by comparing the tension provided by the tension varying means 12 and 16 with the tension detected by the tension detection means 15 and 17 is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
