<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock device capable of improving lock strength. <P>SOLUTION: This lock device is constituted by forming a striker engaging channel 203 in which a striker 301 can advance. This device has a hook 201 rotatable between an unlock position where the striker can advance into the striker engaging channel and a lock position where the striker advancing into the striker engaging channel cannot leave, a ratchet 401 for inhibiting rotation of the hook into the direction of unlock position by engaging with the hook at the lock position, a first energizing means for energizing the hook in the direction of unlock position, and a second energizing means for energizing the ratchet in the direction in which it is engaged with the hook. An outer shape of the hook 201 is like a disc, and a ratchet hole 205 in which the ratchet 401 is arranged is formed inside the hook 201.
