<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a brake operating amount detection device capable of providing an excellent operating feeling to a driver according to the operating speed of a brake pedal without requiring a detection means for detecting the operating amount and operating speed of the brake pedal and a complicated calculation process. <P>SOLUTION: A spring 80 energizing the brake pedal 74 in the direction of a non-operating position and an electric motor 81 for providing the feeling are connected to the brake pedal 74 to form the brake operating amount detection device 73. An operating feeling generating circuit 83 comprising a resistance 86, a coil 87, and a capacitor 88 is connected, parallel with each other, to the electric motor 81 for providing the feeling.
