PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of executing easy authentication between a client and a server even when using a browser not dealing with an SSL. SOLUTION: This method includes: a step wherein the server 3 issues two authentication files 10, 20 for the server and for a client terminal, and stores the authentication file 20 for the server; a step for transmitting the authentication file 10 for the client terminal issued by the server 3 to the client terminal 5; a step for requesting transmission of the authentication file 10 for the client to the client terminal 5; and a step for comparing the received authentication file 10 for the client and the authentication file 20 for the server, and permitting the authentication to the client terminal when both the files 10, 20 coincide as the result of the comparison.
