PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-safety authentication system not causing a leakage of personal data. SOLUTION: This authentication system 100 includes: an object 110 for authentication including a storage part 112 previously storing reference personal data that are a reference of the authentication when authenticating an individual, an acquisition part 114 acquiring target personal data that are a target of the authentication when authenticating the individual, and an interface 116 transmitting the reference personal data and the target personal data; and an authentication device 120 including an interface 122 receiving the reference personal data and the target personal data transmitted from the object 110 for the authentication, and an authentication part 124 comparing the reference personal data and the target personal data to authenticate the individual.
