PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed color image reproducing system for shortening the transfer time in a network by reducing the data size of image data to be transferred. SOLUTION: This high-speed color image reproduction system comprises an image input device 10, etc., to which an image inputting means 20, etc., can be connected and an image reproducing device 50, etc. to be connected through the network. The image input device 10 transmits to the image reproducing device 50 data for transfer obtained by selectively converting inputted image data into monochrome image data and image feature data representing the feature of an image as image data for transfer.
