PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition for transmissions having fuel consumption performances and sufficient durability of gears, bearings, etc. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition for the transmissions comprises (C) an extreme pressure agent composed of a phosphorus extreme pressure agent and a sulfur extreme pressure agent and/or a phosphorus-sulfur extreme pressure agent in an amount of 0.05-2 mass% based on the total amount of the composition in a lubricating base oil composed of (A) a lubricating base oil having 1.5-5 mm<SP>2</SP>/s kinematic viscosity at 100°C and prepared by regulating %C<SB>N</SB>to 10-60 in an amount of 60-95 mass% based on the total amount of the base oil and (B) a mineral oil lubricating base oil having 10-50 mm<SP>2</SP>/s kinematic viscosity at 100°C and 0.3-1 mass% of sulfur content in an amount of 5-40 mass% based on the total amount of the base oil. The lubricating oil composition is characterized in that the phosphorus content (P) in the composition is 0.01-0.05 mass% and the total sulfur content (S) is 0.05-0.3 mass%, and the P/S ratio is 0.10-0.40.
