PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set suitable print specification information by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The electronic camera comprises a means for photographing an object to generate an image, a means for selecting whether the date of photograph is written on the image generated by the photographing means, a means for writing the date if the selecting means selects a date writing mode, a means for forming print specification information about the image, a means for deciding whether the writing means already writes the date on the image about which the forming means is to form the print specification information, a changing means for deleting the date of photograph from the print specification information if the date of photograph is contained in the print specification information when the forming means forms the print specification information, and a means for recording the print specification information related to the image.
