POLYMER PTC ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily set the operational time of a polymer PTC up to a transition temperature by varying the surface shape (volume) of a lead terminal confronted with the polymer PTC element body. SOLUTION: Holes 4 for adjusting an operational time characteristic are provided at the part of the lead terminal 3 confronted with the polymer PTC element body 1 in the polymer PTC element with the lead terminal 3 integrally bonded to the polymer PTC element body 1. The adjustment of the size of the hole 4 can vary the operational time characteristic. The lead terminal 3 is preferably a terminal made by Ni or nickel alloy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
