PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print head and a print method using it that suppress deterioration in image quality even when pressure-generating portions are formed at a high density. SOLUTION: An ink channel for introducing ink and an ink ejection hole 3 for ejecting ink are connected to a compression chamber 4. The plurality of compression chambers 4 are provided in a substrate 1. An actuator 2 including a plurality of pressure-generating portions 17 is provided on the main surface of the substrate 1 such that each of the pressure-generating portions 17 abuts each of the compression chambers 4. Dummy cavities 6 are provided in the outer circumference of the compression chambers 4. Preferably, the shape of the compression chamber 4 and the shape of the dummy cavity 6 are approximately the same, and the distance between the dummy cavity 6 and a compression chamber 4, which is next to the dummy cavity, is approximately the same as the distance between the plurality of compression chambers 4.
