PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing a service according to the state of a wireless communication network, and a method therefor are provided to prevent download of unnecessary data, and reduce the squandering of resources in the case that a failure is generated or many users exist on a network line. CONSTITUTION: A browser(120) is connected with an application server to select multimedia contents by operation of a subscriber, and to display data transmitted from the application server to the subscriber. A memory(130) stores data of the multimedia contents selected through the browser(120). An information analyzing unit(140) analyses service providing environment information of the multimedia contents stored in the memory(130). A network state judging unit(150) judges the state of a network of a wireless channel in which a wireless terminal is connected with a base station. A control unit(110) compares the service providing environment information of the multimedia contents analyzed by the information analyzing unit(140) with the state information of the current connected network judged by the network state judging unit(150) to judge whether the corresponding multimedia contents are to be provided. The control unit(110) controls data request for the corresponding multimedia contents through the browser(120).
