<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a space for an apparatus by miniaturizing and housing a selective oxidation reactor in a narrow columnar space. <P>SOLUTION: A selective oxidation reactor 6 is formed into a double cylindrical shape having a notch in a part in the circumferential direction, and is provided with a plurality of reactor main bodies 31 and 32 partitioned by a partition plate 33. The reactor main bodies 31 and 32 are provided respectively with chambers 36 and 39 which are partitioned by upper and lower perforated plates 34, 35 and 37, 38 through which the reformed gas mixed with air for oxidation passes, and a selective oxidation catalyst is loaded in the chambers 36 and 39. In a chamber 47 formed on the upper part of the chamber 36, a reformed gas introducing port 49a to which the reformed gas from the section 36 flows in is bored on the outer circumference, and a gas mixing pipe 49 is provided which mixes the reformed gas with air for oxidation 48 introduced from the top end side and which supplies the mixture of the reformed gas and the air for oxidation 48 to a chamber 51 formed in the upper part of the chamber 39 of the reactor main body 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
