PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the security by preventing an illicit action easy to occur in specifying the operation authority of a commodity sales data processor (a POS terminal, etc.).

SOLUTION: The server 301 for providing an authentication content 351 retrieves authority rank data for determining the operation authority of the pOS terminal 101 based on a password inputted by a cellular hone 201 on the authentication content 351, and downloads the retrieved authority rank data to the cellular phone 201 with the security program 354 for transmitting the authority rank data by infrared communication. When the security program downloaded to the cellular phone 201 is started at the use of the POS terminal 101, the authority rank data are transmitted by infrared communication, and the POS terminal 101 which receives them specifies the operation authority according to the received authority rank data and permits only operations within the specified authority.
