PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container 1 with a stem capable of being used for a long period without frequently replacing a gland packing 5 even when the content includes chlorine (Cl<SB>2</SB>) at 300°C or more. SOLUTION: In this container with stem 1, a plurality of pieces of gland packing 5 include a first gland packing 51 made out of a fluororesin and a second packing 52 made out of carbon and mounted at a packing pressor 6 side. Preferably, a gland packing 512 made out of a fluororesin is mounted between the first gland packing 51 and the second gland packing 52 in a state of being closely kept into contact with the first gland packing 51. Further a third gland packing 52 made out of a fluororesin and mounted at a packing pressor 6 side of the second gland packing 52, and a forth gland packing 54 made out of carbon and mounted at a packing pressor 6 side of the third gland packing 53 are further included.
