ROLLING AND SLIDING COMPONENT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling and sliding component using a general bearing steel and having limited fatigue texture formation, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The rolling and sliding component has a rolling and sliding surface whose surface layer portion has a surface hardness of 56-64 in Rockwell C hardness, a residual austenite amount of 12 vol% or less and a martensite X-ray half value width of 4-6°. The rolling and sliding component is obtained by applying quenching treatment to a machined component material formed of the bearing steel into a preset shape and then applying at least twice tempering treatment and surface hardening treatment thereto.
