摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the self-ignition timing in simple constitution and operate in a wide output adjustment range while avoiding knocking in a premixed compression ignition engine adapted to compress and ignite premixture taken in a combustion chamber 10 to be burnt. SOLUTION: This premixed compression ignition engine includes: a combustion state detecting means A for detecting the combustion state; a fuel supply means B for forming a rich region 10b formed of rich mixture having a larger equivalence ratio than the premixture in a part of the combustion chamber 10; and a control means C for controlling the fuel supply condition of the fuel supply means B on the basis of the detection result of the combustion state detecting means A.
