PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front driving excavation machine and method capable of obtaining a uniform, stable excavation performance regardless of the excavation depth. SOLUTION: In a front driving excavation machine and excavation method in which a shaft is excavated in a stratum and used for a pile pit for a precast foundation pile construction method, a drill bit is driven by a driving device nearly installed and at the same time the drill bit and the driving device are lifted up by a hanging device such as a crane. Electric power or high pressure oil necessary for driving the driving machine is supplied through an electric power cable or an oil pipe by a power source out of the excavation hole.
