PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency and operation stability, ensure washing stability and improve washing efficiency, in a method and equipment for separating a crystal from a slurry containing the crystal obtained through crystallization or the like, and then washing the separated crystal. SOLUTION: The separation washing method employs a piston-type separation washing device 1 to supply an un-processed slurry into a container 2 of the piston-type separation washing device 1, through at least one of the following steps (a) and (b): Namely, (a) is a step of adjusting the un-processed slurry to a predetermined crystal concentration, by virtue of concentration-adjusting means 10, (b) is a step of extracting crystals having smaller sizes than a predetermined diameter from the un-processed slurry, by virtue of particle size adjusting means 30.
