The arrangement uses a measurement resistance (RS), which is heated with its temperature rise controlled by a computer according to the voltage drop (US*) across the resistance. This is fed to one input of an operational amplifier (OPV) with the voltage (UT) representing the medium temperature fed to its second input. From the amplifier output (UR) and voltage (UT) the computer (MC) then provides the error signal (AUR) for controlling the provision of heat to the measurement resistance. The computer can include a digital controller (REG) for controlling the power supply to the heating resistance (RH) in response to the error signal and to provide a signal indicating the quantity of intake air.
