<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive composition which is highly sensitive, is capable of maintaining the high sensitivity for a long term and has excellent preservation stability, and to provide a color filter using the photosensitive composition. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition contains at least a compound having an ethylenic unsaturated double bond, a photo polymerization initiator, pigment and a thiol compound. The thiol compound has a branched structure in which three or more substituents other than hydrogen are combined to a carbon of α-position and/or β-position with respect to the thiol group. Therein, it is preferable that at least one of the substituents is an alkyl group. By using the thiol compound having such a branched structure, the composition which is highly sensitive and is capable of maintaining the sensitivity can be obtained.
