PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of carrying out a transmitting process at a timing which a user requested. SOLUTION: Every time a read station 12 reads one page of a manuscript, a control unit 10 displays a screen on a display unit 17 for urging selection of any of 'carrying out reading the following manuscript continuously', 'finishing the facsimile communication by transmitting' and 'carrying out reading the following manuscript after transmitting'. A selection command to displayed items on the screen is received by an operating unit 15, and reading the manuscript and transmitting image data are carried out according to the received selection command.
