CHIP TYPE SURGE SUPPRESSOR AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip type surge suppressor that has a stable performance and a quality as well as excellent durability. SOLUTION: The surge suppressor comprises a ceramic member 13 of columnar or plate-shape in which conductive coating 12 is formed divided through a micro gap M and a cylindrical insulator 15 which seals the ceramic member 13 inside together with inert gas G by a pair of sealing electrodes 16 arranged at both ends. The ceramic member 13 is installed inclined in the diagonal direction in the cylindrical insulator 15 so that the vicinity of the corner parts at both ends of the conductive coating 12 may make contact respectively with the sealing electrodes 16.
