PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loosening device of a yarn in a stretching twister, capable of suppressing twists on loosening of an un-stretched yarn generated on drawing out a modified cross section unstretched yarn having a large single yarn fineness from a cylindrical bobbin, stretch/twist-processing and capable of obtaining a high quality stretched/twisted yarn. SOLUTION: This loosening device is used on stretching/twisting the modified cross section un-stretched yarn having≥20 decitex single yarn fineness,≤10 filaments and≥30% degree of modification of the cross sectional shape of the single yarn, and has a supporting body 12 having a structure capable of rotating an un-stretched yarn package wound on the cylindrical bobbin 1 in circular circumferential direction and a driving roller 11 for rotating the package by making a contact with the circular circumferential surface of the unstretched yarn package, and capable of increasing and decreasing the speed of the driving roller 11 in accordance with the speed of a feeding roller 3.
