PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a blank for a drawn-ironed can which can stably manufacture the can with a good quality. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the blank for the drawn-ironed can includes steps of: blanking a plate 11 to be processed from a previously resin-coated metal plate 12; and doing drawing-ironing process to manufacture a processed can body 10 from the plate 11. Before blanking of the plate 11, cut lines are made in resin films 27 and 28 at a cutoff part 26 of the metal plate 12. As a result, generation of chips on a periphery of the resin films 29 and 30 on the blanked plate 11 is prevented, and thereby the quality processed can body 10 is stably manufactured.
