PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an isocyanate compound by which the isocyanate compound can be produced at a high pyrolysis rate and in a high yield with a high selectivity. SOLUTION: A carbamate compound is pyrolyzed in the presence of at least one kind of solid catalyst selected from the group consisting of a silicate, silica gel and a metal element and a tin catalyst. In the method, the isocyanate compound industrially used as a raw material for polyurethane or the like can be obtained in a high yield with a high selectivity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
