<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clear ink composition capable of forming a high gloss record and a recording method using the above clear ink composition. <P>SOLUTION: The clear ink composition contains two kinds of polymer particle groups different in the mean particle diameters (e.g. a polymer particle group having small particle sizes of a mean particle size of ≤150 nm and a polymer particle group having large particle sizes of a mean particle size of ≥150 nm), and substantially does not contain a colorant.
