DEMODULATION APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the demodulation characteristic of a demodulation apparatus is deteriorated in the case of demodulating a digitally modulated carrier passing through a transmission path not assumed in advance.

SOLUTION: A storage/selection/control part 601 changes a value of a second demodulation parameter 4 to be given to a second demodulation part 202 for revising its demodulation characteristic and stores a transmission quality evaluation value 9 at that time and the second demodulation parameter 4 in pairs, and thereafter again changes the value of the second demodulation parameter 4 to another value and stores a transmission quality evaluation value 9 at that time and the second demodulation parameter 4 in pairs. The storage/selection/control part 601 repetitively carries out the operations above at a constant or variable rate to search the second demodulation parameter 4 at which the best transmission quality evaluation value 9 is obtained. The storage/selection/control part 601 gives the same parameter as the second demodulation parameter 4 at which the best transmission quality evaluation value 9 is obtained to a first demodulation part 201 as a first demodulation parameter 3.
