PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve linearity of an impedance characteristic of a magnetic impedance element, and to widen a detection range from a low magnetic field to a high magnetic field. SOLUTION: In this magnetic impedance element constituted by forming an organic membrane 3 having excellent adhesiveness with a magnetic film 2 having high permeability on a glass substrate 1, and by forming thereon the magnetic film 2 in an illustrated meandering pattern, each interval (S) of the magnetic film 2 is mutually differentiated, to thereby improve linearity by imparting an overlapping effect of the impedance characteristic having different peak positions, and to enlarge the detection range.
