PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for a platelike workpiece which can easily pack a plurality of platelike workpieces, carry the workpieces without damage by a simple structure and reduce a cost for packing. SOLUTION: The packing material includes a base plate 12 with the same shape as a plane shape of the platelike workpiece, a plurality of side plates 13 connected with the periphery of the base plate 12 foldably around its periphery, a cover plate 14 for holding the side plates 13 placed to accept the edges of the workpieces, and spacers to be placed between the workpieces.
