PURPOSE: A circumferential welding machine and a welding method thereof are provided to improve working efficiency, to reduce manufacturing cost and to simplify manufacturing process by automatically welding the clearance around the opening of the housing in welding the exhaust pipe into the housing opening. CONSTITUTION: A circumferential welding machine comprises a frame(100), a positioning unit(20) deciding and maintaining the fixed position of a housing(10), a floating unit(30) arranged in the upper part of the positioning unit to adjust the position of an opening of the housing, a welding unit(40) having a stand(42) in which a welding torch(41) is placed and an oscillator connected to the lower part of the stand to oscillate the welding torch, a couple of detecting sensors(51,52) arranged in the lower part of the positioning unit to detect a clearance of the opening, a control unit(60) connected to the oscillator and the detecting sensors to control oscillation of the welding torch, and a rotating unit(70) rotating the welding unit or the positioning unit.
