<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus capable of reducing crosstalk and obtaining a wide view angle. <P>SOLUTION: In the image display apparatus, a first region transmitting specified polarized light and a second region transmitting specified polarized light vertical to the specified polarized light have filters which are successively disposed in the longitudinal direction and a light source 201 comprises a light emitting source 210, a polarization means 212 which outputs the light with the specified polarized light and the polarized light vertical to the specified polarized light and an optical means 203 which refracts different polarized light rays into the directions attaining left and right respective eyes and irradiates a liquid crystal display panel 205 with the light rays. Therein, the light emitting source 210 is a linear light emitting source which linearly emits the light by setting the light source part for three-dimensional image display on a central part and setting the light source part for visual field magnification on both ends. Further, the linear light emitting source is disposed in the left and right direction for the liquid crystal display panel 205 and constitutes the linear light emitting source so that the light emitting part is positioned on a nearly equal distance from the center part of the optical means 203. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
