摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for precisely detecting a focal distance even when the movement of an object and camera shake occur, and to provide a focusing device. SOLUTION: An image detection region is set on a photographed image data, the image detection region is divided and a plurality of windows are set. An evaluation value of contrast and the position on which the maximum of the evaluation value is recorded are calculated at every window. While driving an optical system 11 and changing the focal distance, a plurality of image data are photographed. A plurality of the image data are compared at every window and the partial focal distance is calculated at every window. When the position on which the maximum of the evaluation value is recorded is moved with respect to each window among a plurality of the image data, it is judged that the hand deflection occurs. Accordingly, the reliability is lowered and the partial focal distance of the window is nullified.
