PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize novel appearance by making the best use of a cover of a display part provided on a front face of a display panel and its peripheral portion. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument is provided with a pointer 4, the display panel 5 having an index part 51 indicated by the pointer 4, the light emitting type display part 91, the cover 102 for covering a periphery of the light emitting type display part 91, a light emitting display 12 for forming a luminescent display image d thereon, and a translucent reflecting member 13 arranged between the light emitting type display part 91 and the light emitting display 12, and for composition-displaying a display image 91a of the light emitting type display part 91 and the reflected luminescent display image d of the light emitting display 12, by transmitting the display image 91a of the light emitting type display part 91 to an observing person ob side and by reflecting the luminescent display image d of the light emitting display 12 to the observing person ob side, and the luminescent display image d is composition-displayed in the cover 12 and/or its periphery portion.
