PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of and reduce the size of a power supply device. SOLUTION: Capacitors 4 and 6 are serially connected between both the ends of a direct-current power source 2. IGBTs 8 and 10 are serially connected between both the ends of the direct-current power source 2, and alternately brought into conduction. A transformer 12 is connected between the interconnection point between the capacitors 4 and 6 and the interconnection point between the IGBTs 8 and 10. Snubber capacitors 32 and 38 are connected in parallel with the IGBTs 8 and 10. Diodes 34 and 40 are connected in series therewith in such a direction that the snubber capacitors 32 and 38 are charged when the IGBTs 32 and 38 are out of conduction. When the the secondary winding 54sa of a transformer 54 is connected between the interconnection point between the snubber capacitor 32 and the diode 34 and the direct-current power source 2 and the IGBT 8 is in conduction, the secondary voltage of the transformer 12 is converted and supplied. When the secondary winding 54sb of the transformer 54 is connected between the interconnection point between the snubber capacitor 38 and the diode 40 and the direct-current power source 2 and the IGBT 10 is in conduction, the secondary voltage of the transformer 12 is converted and supplied.
