PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating amount setting device for a cooker capable of properly executing the other process by preventing the disadvantage applying the bad influence on the other processing by executing the processing to adjust the heating amount, though the heating amount is adjusted by using an encoder outputting a pair of pulse signals in accompany with the rotating operation. SOLUTION: This device has the encoder for outputting two pulse signals in a state that a phase of one of two pulse signals progresses more than the other pulse signal in accompany with the rotating operation in one direction of a rotational operating part, and a phase of the other pulse signal progresses more than one of the pulse signals in accompany with the rotating operation in the other direction, the data of two pulse signals output from the encoder is repeatedly read by every predetermined set unit time, and the direction of the rotating operation and the rotating operation amount of the rotational operating part are determined on the basis of a data pattern in the read data of two pulse signals.
