<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic sphere which hardly causes the incorporation or the sticking of impurities into or to a product due to the remarkable abrasion of corners of the sphere when used, and thus hardly affects the quality or the performance of the product when used as a pulverization medium in a ball mill or the like, a projecting material in various jetting work or a filter for filtration and a method of manufacturing the ceramic sphere at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic sphere having average sphericity of ≤1.05 and the sphericity standard deviation of ≤0.04 is obtained by a method including a process for mixing ceramic powder with a granulating agent to prepare slurry, a process spraying the slurry into a heating space to form a formed sphere having ≤2 wt.% granulating agent content and a process for sintering the formed sphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
