<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide R-Fe-N based magnet powder which comprises reduced impurities though pulverization treatment is needless, has no pulverization strain, and has high coercive force, particularly, anisotropic Sm-Fe-N based magnet powder. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing R-Fe-N based magnet powder having high purity comprises: a stage wherein R-Fe based alloy powder is melted in plasma radiated into a non-oxidizing atmosphere; a stage wherein the melt of the R-Fe based alloy powder is rapidly cooled to obtain magnet powder having a mean particle diameter of 0.5 to 10 μm; and a stage wherein the obtained magnet powder is heat-treated in a nitrogen-containing non-oxidizing atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
